Last chance to meet Rita Grebe (The Great Crested) this summer

It’s your LAST CHANCE to catch the Grebe (Caroline Smith) in action in her palace on Saturday 13th July. You can drop in to see her and her chicklettes, have a chat about birding, try locating your own inner bird, pat down your heated feathers AND find out about the project, Birdwatchers’ Wives, at Village Green, Metal Culture’s arts, music and comedy festival in Chalkwell Park, Southend. Come! It’s going to be a scorcher! She will be preening on the Sundown Arts stage too mid afternoon.

13th July 2013 Village Green at Metal, Chalkwell Hall, Chalkwell Avenue, Southend on Sea SS0 8NB. Tel: 01702 470700

Rita’s Palace is situated on the Cedar Lawn (serene and just as she likes it). ¬†Midday to 6pm.

Birdwatchers’ Wives is supported using public funding by Arts Council England, a Time and Space Residency at Metal Culture ¬†and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds.

Birdwatchers’ Wives is an innovative developmental performance project that that takes an alternative look at the elusive world of birdwatching, identification and identity through the interactive workshop ‘Locating Your Inner Bird’, and through the community of Wallasea Island – the humans with the binoculars and the birds themselves.
